Amazing breakfast in a characterful dining room. the owners were friendly and served us with a smile. the homemade cake and freshly scrambled eggs were delicious. the location was excellent, easy to access with a car and near to the main points of interest. We were able to park nearby in a public and safe parking lot for free. Emilio, the staff member, was incredibly helpful, giving us great suggestions on what to do and see in the area.

The sound isolation of the hotel could be improved. We experienced some noise from the neighboring room, which was a bit bothersome at times.

We stayed at Hotel La Balsa for a week and it was the perfect base for exploring the stunning Picos de Europa. The family-run hotel is conveniently located between Cangas de Onís and Covadonga, allowing us to easily reach both places within a 10-minute drive. The attention to detail in the hotel was impressive, with cleanliness and small touches that made our stay comfortable. The owner, Edwin, was exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing us with recommendations for nearby restaurants. The breakfast served in the beautifully designed dining room was a highlight, with fresh juice, eggs, ham, salami, bread.

night-time hustle and bustle was missing

This hotel had such a charming and cozy atmosphere. I loved the traditional Asturian design with its original stone and wood features. The sun terrace and garden were delightful, perfect for enjoying a cup of tea and taking in the beautiful surroundings. As a senior woman, I also appreciated how accessible the hotel was. The staff were always there to assist me and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my stay.

I would have preferred if the children working there were a bit more attentive to the needs of senior guests.
